Title: Got my M1A
Post by: oldgraygeek on May 04, 2013, 02:10:03 AM
Brand new M1A Scout Squad, model AA9126 with a black composite stock.
Only $1499. They quoted me $1900 when I ordered it, so I must say Targetmaster treated me well.

Thanks all! Monday is doubtful: gotta work, and geek.
I mailed in an order to Springfield for five 20-round magazines using the coupon / order form that came with the rifle, and just (5 minutes ago) ordered two more from Cheaper Than Dirt. If Springfield doesn't come through, it's good to know other sources are coming back online.

I think I'm going to be at Ommelanden tomorrow morning when they open up.

Sweet rifle OldGray!
I'm still waiting for that finger biting Garand from CMP. 70+ days. Sort of like NCC.
Hey....you don't look at all like Dilbert.....

It appears the women over your shoulder either approves or adores you.  Either way that’s pretty nice!

Great rifle.  Wish I had one.

The Springfield Armory coupon hasn't gone into the mailbox yet, so I'm interested...

OK, now, thanks to JOET, my rifle looks like it should:

(Bolt locked back, empty chamber, full 20-rd. magazine, safety on).

This rifle is tempting me, keep thinking about it everyday.... I am very interested in the SOCOM 16.

And... five more 20-rd. magazines showed up from Springfield Armory, so now I have nine of them.
Just in time for Ommelanden tomorrow morning.

And... now, it's up to eleven, with two more 20-round magazines arriving today. I need to buy more .308 ammunition.

If I make it an even dozen, plus the silly 10-round mag that Springfield Armory insulted the new rifle with, I'll be able to load 250 rounds into magazines. Unless Die Hard 6 happens on my block, that ought to be adequate.

Or, maybe I'll work my way up to twenty-five standard capacity magazines to load 500 rounds... and set the 10-rounder aside to sell if the state passes magazine size limits.
