Title: Calling Delaware "at-home" FFL holders.

Looking to pursue a FFL license and want some first hand experience with someone who has successfully completed the required course of action.  I just relocated to South Dover from Newark and didn't know what I should do before I send in the required forms to the ATF.  I assume I first need to apply for a Delaware business license and make sure the zoning in my area allows an at home business?  Honestly I was planing to do these two steps anyway because I will be repairing cars and trucks on the side and my new property has a shop that looks as though it was a buisness at one point.  Any input from someone who has been through this is appreciated.  Thanks.

I beleive Kent County does not allow FFL's to work out of a residence.  I would check that first.

Thanks for the info.  I guess i'll have to look into that.  If im zoned ag/commercial and have a seperate building from my actual residence, i would think i could get around around it.

There use to be a guy out between Sandtown and Petersburg that had a gun business. He had a separate building from his house on his property for his business. He was in Kent County.  He's retired now.

I'm not allowed to run a business out of my house thanks to my brilliant HOA  ???  :o  >:(  even if Kent County allowed it.

I had all the FFL paper work ready to go(live in NCC), then hit the part about complying with local regs, zoning, etc.  Asked around and scrapped the idea.  Looking to do some smithing.

You still need your FFL license to be a gunsmith.
