Title: Tax deduction?
Post by: hap_hazzard on July 17, 2015, 01:58:56 PM
Hey folks,
I did a search on the posts here to make sure I did not bring up an old topic.
Is it permissible to take a tax deduction, federal or Delaware, for firearms training and even a firearm itself if you or dependent was the victim of a violent crime?  I have looked around on the net and have not found much. If you have info at all please let me know.

Thanks a bunch!

I would think it is not deductible unless it was required by your profession. But ultimately you could ask a tax lawyer.

Plenty of business owners use that as the reason for getting the permit. It would be nice if they were allowed to count it as a business expence.

Not a lawyer but I would think if you are in business, it would be like any other license expense.
