Title: matter of time
Post by: Just Bill on June 17, 2016, 11:58:21 AM
Just a matter of time before our elected officials gin up some Calif. style gun bills, ban "assault" rifles, magazine restrictions.  The legislative session is winding down and there are budget matters to deal with, so maybe they will let gun stuff slide until next year.  But they could sneak something in during one of their midnight sessions.  Pay attention, we know how this one party system is working in Delaware.

Yes the games have begun, I found this amendment #9 to house bill 325 which was originally proposed to extend the waiting period from 3 days to 30 days if not approved by ATF.  Looks like Mr Marshall does not believe that due process needs to be involved when taking away 2A Rights from gun owners.

Synopsis of Bill: This amendment prohibits the sale, transfer, or delivery of a firearm to any person on the Federal Government’s terrorist watch list or the Federal Government’s no-fly list, or on any other list used by the Transportation Security Administration for purposes of identifying individuals who are prohibited from boarding aircraft because they pose a threat of terrorism.

Maybe they should stop the terrorist, possibly even concentrate on that. They'll use bombs, knives or F150's.

Plenty of cheap 30 round 5.56 magazines around. Time is now I'm sorry to say.

Wherever you go, there's only one party.  They may say that they're different, but they're not.

I disagree with that.  There is a major difference now that the left has made a giant step left.  But yes, the republican establishment is also a do nothing bunch.  At least, for the most part, agree with us on the Second Amendment.

Delaware has gone from 5th in economic standing, to 38 under the libs.

There are rich people, and there are not-rich people.  There are people in power, and there are powerless people.  Both major parties like doing things for rich people -- because they are themselves rich.  Both major parties like doing things for poor people -- because it's a major chunk of voters.  Neither party cares about the folks in the middle -- ya know, the ones who everyone wants to pay all of the bills.

Although Republcians tend to support the Second Amendment, if they thought for a millisecond that their lives could become jeopardized by "normal folks" owning weapons, I am a firm believer in the idea that we would start seeing a shift in legislation, regulation, rules, and the interpretation of all of these things.

The two major parties do tend to operate a bit differently, but in the end -- people in power do things to protect people in power.
