The cost of the License is $20.00 cash, check or money order. This is payable upon approval (please do not mail any form of payment with your application). Pennsylvania License to Carry are good for 5 years.  You can drop off your application to our office or mail it to, Adams County Sheriff’s Office, 117 Baltimore Street, Room 4, Gettysburg, PA 17325.

Out of state residents please include a copy of your valid Driver’s License and a copy of your License to Carry from the state in which you reside. You must possess a valid License to Carry from the state in which you reside in order to apply in Pennsylvania.

The processing time is about 1 week.  Our office will notify you by mail when your application has been approved. You will receive a letter of instruction which includes our days and hours of operation. You must appear in person within 30 days from the date of the letter to have your picture taken in our office and remit payment.

They make you wait a week or so, but you can mail in the application... so you only have to go up there once to pick up the permit.
