Just recently got my DE CCW after 53 days and applied for my PA over the weekend. I am looking at picking up either Florida or Utah. Does anyone have any recommendations?

The state that is recognised by the most states and is the cheapest to get, I would say.

Utah with Delaware and PA will give you 40 states.
Florida with Delaware and PA will give you 38 states ( less Nevada and Washington)
Utah is cheaper but you will need to do a special Utah training course. Your training for Delaware will suffice for Florida. Also, Florida will require a trip to state police for fingerprints on a card that Florida will provide by mail ( $10 at DSP). When you get Utah training, normally the trainer will fingerprint you and you will just have to provide a photo and the money. $65 for 5 years. Florida is $97 for 7 years.
So do the math it will really depend on if you need WA AND NV and how much the training is.
Other than Connecticut which is available by mail, that is about as far as you can go. Forget NY, NJ, CA ad nauseam.

Personally I would go with UT.
Reason FLA is good for 7 years. At which time you must be fingerprinted again. Last I knew, 117 for 7 yrs PLUS 65 (current finger printing fee).
Downside of UT, must take class from UT certified instructors. When I last renewed my UT, $0.75 convince fee (BEST money spent!) To renew online

I renewed my Florida last summer and they had lowered the fee from the $117. The fee to roll ink prints at the State Police Bureau of Identification was $10. I think the $65 is the fee for the fingerprint and background check for the Delaware first time license to carry. You are correct that Florida requires new ink prints on their form on renewal. A PITA. I did the Utah class in Felton area. Instructor was a police officer and was excellent. Needed as I have family in Washington State. Also good to have both if you travel due to fact that states sometimes drop other states

I have a Florida CCA, it expires in 2023. I have never had an occasion
to use it. Since Delaware has reciprocity with Florida, I can't see getting
it renewed. If you are driving to Florida, you have to take the PA Turnpike
to West Virginia, to avoid Maryland, and if you are going that route you
have restricted reciprocity all the way down. With Maryland, New Jersey,
and New York, car travel for concealed carriers from Delaware is just
about implausible.

Thank you all for the replies. I am thinking that UT will be the way to go.
DelawareGold brings up a good point though about the Maryland problem. It is my understanding that I can disarm and secure my weapon during travel through MD on the way to a more friendly destination, correct?

This is not legal advice!
What I was advised is the firearm must be taken down to a legitimate claim that what
is in your possession are "Gun Parts". Slide off, barrel out, spring out, firing pin out, and
the parts in a lock box. No ammo is best, but at the very least, ammo in a separate lock
box. Even then, it is your contention that this is not a firearm, but you may be required
to bring it before a Judge for a ruling.
The rest of the advice i was given...avoid Maryland, New Jersey, and New York.

For Maryland, I have an OLD email stating gun unloaded (mags CAN be loaded just NOT in gun). Gun secured in holster. It might be here somewhere. Could try the search function.

Fed law as long as unloaded and locked in separate containers cannot be seized by police.

Thanks Radnor, that was my understanding as well, but I am still getting myself well versed in all the law.

You are absolutely correct with regard to Federal Law, but in the Federal Law it states;
"Notwithstanding any other provision of any law or any rule or regulation of a State or any political subdivision thereof,"
A Federal officer, in a Federal Court would find as the Federal Law requires, but State and local laws might put you in
a quagmire because your position is that Federal Law trumps State Law.
How is District of Columbia v. Heller, working in DC?

I think what applies is depending on if you are going through another state or actually to a different state. If going to another state like say, Kansas, I believe the Federal Firearms Transportation Act applies until you get there. But if you are going to another state, like say New York, that states laws apply while you are there.
If you get my drift. No one rule applies to all.
Except if there was a Nationwide Constitutional Carry Law.

If we ever get Nationwide Constitutional Carry I think I might have to go on a massive road trip before I wake up lol
