No DE license. Problem?
« on: February 27, 2011, 07:15:14 PM »
I am getting ready to get my application together and get training and everything and I had a question:
I am Active Duty military and have a Washington State DL.  It does not expire and Washington is my state of legal residence (taxes, etc).
Am I going to need to get a Delaware DE to get a CCW?  How long to I have to live here before I am considered a "resident"?

As a Washington resident, you may be better off obtaining a non-resident permit from a state Delaware honors.
Some of those states would require you to have a Washington state permit first.

Get an Arizona...your military service is all the training you need and it will cover you in DE.  You can do the whole process thru the mail...will take about 2 weeks.

One more thing: if you were to actually become a Delaware resident (i.e., you obtain a Delaware driver's license), no out-of-state permit would be valid for you in Delaware.
