I reached out to the Prothonotary's Office directly for an update on my new permit application (I know.. I’m an impatient bastard) and was surprised to receive a prompt and detailed response which I will share with all of you patiently waiting in NCCo. I hope they don't mind.
The question I posed was: "I submitted my new CCW application on 5-11-11, just wondering if you guys have made it through all the renewal apps yet and have begun to process the new apps."
Answer:
"To answer your question, we have survived yet another year of voluminous renewals and are very pleased with our efforts. Although renewal applications are still trekking in, we have reverted our efforts fully to New applications. Currently our office is processing those NEW applications filed with the intake office in April, and pretty soon will come upon yours. Please be assured that it will be given our utmost attention. Please give the application at least 3 months (minimum) from processing since there are dual agencies and multi-layered steps involved in granting a NEW permit."
