question if anyone can help

i have a friend interested in ccw permit he buys guns with no problem as far as background check but he says he has a juvinile felony conviction for theft (35 years ago) no other run ins with the law since then should he try and have that expunged or will it not show up on background check because it is a juvinile record ?

Don't quote me on this but there is something about minor criminal records you have to wait till your at least 25 than you can apply
