I looked really hard at them for a long time. There are many satisfied owners but many unhappy ones as well. While Colt has a lifetime warranty, the turnaround time if you need to have your gun serviced is just ridiculous - my experience 2 to 3 months, main reason I don't buy Colts.

If you want a compact 1911 take a look at the SA EMPs, these guns were designed from the ground up around 9mm in a compact 1911. If you don't have problems with carrying 9mm the EMP is the way to go IMO (also available in .40).

As a side note, regardless of which one you get, if you decide on a LW gun make sure you get from a company that offers lifetime warranty.

I personally prefer a full size 1911.

Know what you mean. I have also looked at a Colt New Agent Talo.

What do you think?

The Talo editions are always very appealing to me, and this specific one they added the rear sights which are a must IMO.

I am skeptical to compact 1911s.

Take a look at http://www.stiguns.com/products/guns/pistols/1911-pistols/

If I were decided on a compact 1911 .45acp, I would probably go with one of their offerings.

YES, YES, YES... Nice looking...hard to find even Gunbroker only had 3 or 4 and used.

Would like to hold and fire one before I would purchase one.
