Large Gun/Fire Safe
« on: January 09, 2013, 05:39:34 AM »
Anyone have any recommendations for a large home gun/fire safe? I'd like to keep it under $1500. I know a couple places that have some in stock, but I'm also looking for a place that I can physically look at. Here's a couple I've been scoping out. Thanks for any replys!

I was just in Dick’s Sporting Goods at the Christiana Mall.  Several good (and several cheap) gun safes there.

Costco: very limited selection, but what they do have is always top-shelf.

I'm ordering a National from Liberty later this year. I want the thicker steel! I know how easy it is to cut through 10 - 14 gauge steel. Plus I want the fire protection.

The FatBoy Liberty is nice. Don't bother with that Patriot! I've looked into them and have seen them first hand.

This weekend at the Tractor Supply Across from Walmart/Chik-Fil-A in Camden, they have 2 gun safes advertised. One is a Winchester 10 Gun Safe, mechanical dial lock with 3 spoke handel for $349.99, and the other is a Stack-On 14 gun cabinet with key lock, 3 point lock bar and includes bolt-down hardware, for $119.99. Save $30.00.
Good buy for those of us that ar not rich but need a reasonable place to lock up our firearms.

Agway in Milford has Heritage safes, and an annual sale. This sale is also done in most De. Agways. I paid $1600 for a $2500 safe.

I bought a Bighorn (made by Rhino) from Costco. It was on sale and I picked it up for $500! Great safe at a steal!

I'm looking for a safe. Does anyone have any other comments or recommendations? I've checked out the Liberty lines, but they seem pretty expensive.

As Joet mentioned, Chris sells them as well. Looks to be the Winchester brand.
