Sounds funny considering this August 2012 press release:

http://www.cabelas.com/resources/christiana-de-press-release.shtml

Maybe their lease ran out, or could it be because they sell guns and ammo?

Gawd, we hope not. We alter the schedule of long-distance drives to eat lunch at the one in Wheeling WV.

As of right now DE is still shown on their map as a future store.

yes, still  shown, but read the whole paragraph.  lots of ifs.

Info came from a source said to be in with consruction managers.

Also contact at Targetmaster, said same rumor today.

Might be a power play.

Don't we have enought unemployment in this state without our genius legislature trying to keep jobs out of the state?

Via email, Cabela’s Communications Specialist Wesley Remmer said there is “No truth to this rumor,” and he added, “We are moving forward with the project and remain poised for a successful opener in 2014

This, is where you should all be writing a letter to also.
I went to Cables  PA store last weekend.   I had  cash to blow for the weekend. Could not bring myself to buy anything but lunch.

They had plenty of AK ammo.  They had the eotec I wanted.
I walked out with only a box of fudge.

Mostly because any buissness that does not stick on our side, will not get my money.

If they haven't officially announced they are not building here in DE, I don't see why you would have faith in a rumor?  When you say you won't support a business that does not stick to our side what do you mean exactly?

Cabelas has pretty decent record IMO with pulling out of the Eastern Sportsman show for the AR and mag ban at the show.  Even if they don't build a store in DE, its not a decision against gun owners but a play against the laws in DE.  Magpul is going to pull out of Co if Co passes the anti agenda.  Will you not buy from them anymore?  Beretta pulls out of MD?  The list is growing.

You missed.   They are going forward.   Building.     It was only  rumor.

i understand they pulled from the show in harrisburg. .  They  did not pull out of Delaware.  they said it was rumor.

Barreta made a statement about moving.   If laws are passed.
I used the money i did not spend,  to buy a 92barretta yesterday.

I will only buy from companys that make the statement and stick their neck out.

Hope fully   my dislexia doesnt play tricks on you this time.

Went to a business meeting this morning, as of today, there have been no construction contracts awarded, nor has a General been awarded.
Rumor was third of fourth quarter. I have my doubts, but you never know. When the work has not been given to a General or CM, and none of the craft work has been put out to bid and nothing has be awarded, it means it is either delayed, put on hold, or it is not going to happen.
We will all just wait and see.

Gotcha, I thought you were inferring that you weren't spending the money there because of that.  How do you like the 92?  My buddy bought one and I thought the trigger was really loose.  Although I loved shooting it in the military.  It's been awhile and I don't remember it being that way all those years ago.

I agree with your statement and my comment was just some more information about the Cabala job at the mall, and how it is progressing from
the construction view point. I dont think it about pressure or having them pick sides. Its usually about finance, tax, and the like, dont even think, in this case it would be about proposed gun laws, since they sell lots of other stuff. At next months meeting I will get some more info and pass it along.
