Good going Hawkeye and family. I carry the SR9 big brother as I bought it before the SR9C was out. Main difference is shorter barrel and lower capacity mag. I love mine and hope you guys will too. SR40 is bigger bang for your buck.

How accurate was it?  I shot a rental to test it out and found it shot really low.  I'm not sure if it was because I was shooting a rental that's probably not well maintained or the gun is a dud in general.

If I had a pistol that shot low, I wouldn't consider it a dud, especially when consistent. I'd assume I need a shorter front sight post. Most manufacturers sell them for their guns.

I guess I'm just curious if it happens with all of them or just the one I shot.

Understood Newlife503. Hopefully some M&P Shield shooters will chime in. Also the M&P would be considered a combat pistol, so it depends where you put the front sight.

"Guns which are sighted in for a combat hold require the shooter to place the front sight where it covers the exact center of the target, while guns sighted in for a target hold achieve greatest accuracy when the front sight is aligned at the center of the bottom of the bullseye."

I dont know where you guys shop, but Targetmaster has been flush with stuff for a while.  Maybe an ammo limit here and there but plenty of handguns.  i'd estimate they had atleast 5 of each display gun in stock..

I bought my M&P Shield 2 weeks ago. Last Thursday I got to put 50 rounds down range. Handles well, shoots well, and with the longer magazine fits my hand just fine.
It will be my CC pistol. I also bought a new holster made for the M&P Shield.

I really like my Walther PPQs in 9mm. It's the most comfortable handgun I've held, it fires true, it fires every time and its has an in incredible trigger and reset. I own a few of them now and is by far my favorite.

Have to say I also love the Ruger SP101 .357 snub nose that's spurless for a snag free action.
