HB-88 DEFEATED in the Senate
« on: June 28, 2013, 03:18:03 AM »
HB-88 (Taking guns away from mentally ill owners.) was overwhelmingly defeated in the State Senate earlier this evening.
This is very surprising considering that it received only one no vote in the House.

I'm very curious about what transpired during the debate on this bill. If anyone knows how to get a transcript or recording of the floor debate, please let me know.

I'm hoping that they are finally starting to feel the pressure from all of the law abiding gun owners who have been reminding them that we're watching.

I'll update my vote tabulation spreadsheet over the weekend so that everyone can keep the names of the anti 2A legislators handy.

Yep, never saw this one coming.  Hope we are starting to get to them, but doubt it.

If your Senator voted for it, give him or her HELL, if they voted against it, thank them.

Done.  Asked her to vote No and any Bill that would impact me as a law abiding citizen.

I agree, and already sent email to my senator and thanked him for voting against HB88.

Has anyone heard details on a rally in Dover on Sunday?  National Association for Gun Rights is making calls, but I tend to discount them as somewhat unreliable.  I'm not sure the parliamentary rules that would allow the Senate to reconsider HB88, after voting it down, already.

Bill would have to be rewritten and re-introduced with a new number assigned. This session ends in a few days, so it would have to be brought up in the next session.
By then they will be working on some other hot emergency. You know how the Liberal/Progressives love to take advantage of an emergency to get something done?

Beware of what they try to attach to other bills at 2 am. during the last session.

I think she still needs to be booted. She seems to forget she is a part of the party that tend to be conservative.

What’s in this bill that has everyone throwing their Sunday away?

I thought we wanted the control freaks to focus on the people with clear psychological problems instead of all gun owners?

Look,  I understand that any control is onerous but come on now!  Almost all of these mass killings were by diseased people that should not have had firearms.
