Carper and Coons both voted to ratify the UN Arms Treaty that would have killed the 2nd Amendment.  Luckily it was defeated 53-46 with 1 abstaining. To me that still too close. All of Delawares current Congress  men need to go. Carper, Coons and Carney. They are all Socialist Progressive haters of ther US Constitution.

Amen to that brother.

All democrats and probably half of the republicans need to go.

I don't get how someone says "a strong defender of the second amendment, but....". I would respect, but not agree with them more if they would say they supported the spirit of the second amendment and people bearing arms, but they think restrictions should apply. That is what they mean, but not what they say. Those two clowns also say how much they don't like illegal immigration yet vote for every illegal immigration benefit bill and vote against the ones that will stop them.

Concealled carry across state lines would have passed with 60 votes if all the states that voted against Obama ( MO, MT, IN, MT, ND) What is ironic is those states like guns and cant stand Obama yet elect or re-elect senators with no pride in their heritage or the nation.

The only thing to do is to educate the people and get them to vote for a pro-Second Amendment/Republican candidate. Carper, Coons, and Carney are all liars and have no desire to do anything for their pro-Second Amendment constituents. Besides on th national level, we need to do the same IN Delaware too. The state politicians are just as unfriendly to us/anti-gun as the national ones. And corruption is rampant throughout the state.

Get the politicians to notice our cause & desires. If they don't favor us, we work to vote the out!!!

I agree. The thing is there are various other elements to it as well. Anytime we deal with guns and gun control issues race will creep into it based on who are committing most of the gun crime and who a majority of gun owners are.

I am sure after the year in wilmington they will try more crap. Instead of realizing the problem is the "people" who are committing the crimes many politicians want to take away the right of decent citizens rights to self-defense. I dont get how liberals support every spotted owl or snail, sexually challenged rights, affirmative action yet refuse to see the right to self preservation is probably nature's most basic right.

There are too many people blind to the problems. You mention then and people get upset. A good way to attempt to quiet someone down is to play the race card. There are actually gun boards out there that think its wrong to point out demographics of crime and then compare them to who votes for whom. Until that changes we are headed to hell in a hand basket.

One thing I get so ticked about every time our legislature wants to do something with guns like mag limits and so forth. I think and wish I could find a professional way to say this

"You are worried about how many  rounds I carry in my Glock? OK, Mr Liberal. How about this. We go to department of health and social services. We inform everyone receiving benefits that has children that we will no longer provide extra benefits to reward you for your lack of responsibility, which is especially true in the case of single parents with multiple children often by multiple baby daddy's. now leave gun laws as they are and see what cuts down on crime more over a 15 year period"

Now most will decry that as racist, but crime does not have a color. Simply logic is you should not breed what you can't feed. My Rep's aid ( Melanie George, smith, whatever she is calling herself now) has said "what should they abort them"? I reminded her that the democratic party does support unrestricted abortion on demand. That is up to them I told her. I also told her that they could try acting like people who have impulse control and not animals which do not.

I agree Silverbullet. I guess I'm no very "politically correct" and don't give a @@@@ if someone doesn't like it. But, is it just me or do others notice that everyday in the newspaper (no mater which one you get) you see the section that list crimes and arrest for crimes, that the people are at least 80% black and/or Hispanic. So, is racism the problem or is the problem the races. I do not think all blacks and Hispanics are bad, I've worked with them and go to church with them, and have not had a problem with any of them. So, am I just meeting the cream of the crop, or are there more bad than good, or just a sign of the times. As it is said in the Bible, there will be neighbor against neighbor, brothers against brothers, tribe against tribe, in the "End Times"

First calling people like the ones doing the knockout game or the ones for most of those crimes black is wrong. Allen west, Herman Cain, Rev Jesse Lee Peterson are black men. There is another word for the people you speak of and I would get banned for using it. There is also white trash out there ( which most boards would saying nothing of using). You are right blacks are not bad. I love black people. I did the blues and learned much of my guitar playing interest is based on the black man's blues, but that is just it the people you speak of are black.

Heck I am not on some boards because some people don't like the truth. The same attitude that infects "public image" among gun owners is the same way we lose our rights and our guns. I can say not all will admit it but more than a few people have told me the "public image" crap will cost us our guns. Think of these two ways to deal with anti's

1, Sir, please don't take our guns. Please follow the constitution. We have a right.
or
2. BOY!!! You want it it will have to be pried from my cold, dead, hands!!!!!

The brits did not leave when said we did not want to be part of them anymore. We chose option 2 as a nation.

To answer the question about meeting the great people and the 80% on crimes many apologists will say "Jim Crow, Racism, Slavery". I say I don't care what happened before I was even a smile on dad's face ( rest in peace daddy) if they are trying to harm me or my family.

Yes poverty is bad, but why is Detroit, Philadelphia and so forth so violent when very poor areas of Appalachia have no where near the violence?

Here is my theory. There is no difference in the races. What happens in because of slavery there was a way to always divide people and both sides are guilty. After the war between the states you had liberal whites who told former slaves "They owe you something. Stick with me and you will be ok". Today's democratic party is doing that. You also had bigots saying to the average white folks ( maybe 15% of southerners owned slaves and only like 5% owned lots like plantations) "they used to work for you. You need to stick with us or they will take over". Basically instead of brotherhood and coming together we have what we have now.

The civil rights movement did not help. Here is what happened. Segregation was wrong, but what happened is progressive agitators came down south and did a good thing with rights. The thing is instead of focusing on brotherhood and healing between the races after basic civil rights were attained the progressives basically said "Hey have fun guys. We need to focus on some other cause". There was no healing and then the idea of things like affirmative action made equality become special rights and really did not help anything.

Check out this book. Written by a brilliant black man who grew up to a single mother in the projects and points out he was not a thug.

http://www.amazon.com/The-Un-Civil-War-BLACKS-NIGGERS-ebook/dp/B00BMHY5R4

He explains that there are three groups in the "african-american community, Blacks, (censored) and blacks with ( censored) tendancies. He also mentions there are three within the euro race ( whites, whiggers, and rednecks) In both the problem group is the minority ( censored) and rednecks.

The key difference is rednecks have no apologists, When James Byrd was dragged there was no large amount of white people saying it was ok. Or the rednecks who did it just had a "rough life". Very few white people will criticize affirmative action.

Now there are many blacks with ( censored) tendencies and even some blacks along with whiggers, and some whites who will defend thugs and have an apologist attitude. Cases that come to mind are the Knoxville horror ( while not defended many said it was not a hate crime), Jena 6 (clearly a hate crime yet the thugs are made out to be victims), Trayvon Marin ( wont go there) and probably when someone from the knockout game gets killed.

That is the big difference and how we have the situation you notice. It can easily be stopped if people quit being apologists. Great example is that while it does happen, being tough on crime is not a way  many are going to be elected in a place like Wilmington. To me real racism is claiming that being tough on crime means you are anti black. Just like my pet issue of illegal immigration will have many people "anti-latino" or "xenophobic". Those people are the not really different than Al or Jesse excusing or trying to explain away what some might call "black crime"

The truth hurts. If people can't take the fact that minorities commit the most crime then they are living in a fantasy land.

But I think we're getting off topic. We want a national right to carry reciprocity bill to get signed into law. Have to works towards that. If Carper, Coons, & Carney don't work for us, we need to replace them with people that will.

Yes. It is easy to stay a bit, but one reason many people stay out of places like MD are because of not being able to be armed. It is almost like the left wants to protect the ones doing the crimes.

Drivers license are accepted in all 50 states as I understand ( or 57 if you are Obama). Some states offer illegal immigrants a license. My understanding is that has to be accepted in all 50 states. IF that is the case then as a us citizen it really offends me that my permit from DE, FL, or PA is not good in Jersey or Maryland.

This really should not be a liberal or conservative, black or white, or republican or democrat issue. It seems pretty clear to me in the constitution. Heck we already have some interference with having the hazing for permits anyway. We also in most cases cant have full auto and when you can you jump through hoops.

I agree 100%!!! I don't know why that is either. Someone said that one of our (not-so) great Congressional representatives said it has something to with letting the states regulate that themselves. H0RS3$H!T! If they do it for drivers licenses, they should do it for CCW permits/licenses too!

It is so funny to hear any of those three clowns talk about "state rights"

All of them supported every suit Obama and the justice department has made against voter id and also suits against states simply wanting to protect their citizens from illegal immigrants living amongst them. Next to the nuclear option a democrat today talking about states rights is probably the most hypocritical thing I can think of.

Here is a good example.

Some interesting data on the 'state' of Illinois ...

There are more people on welfare in Illinois than there are people working.

Chicago pays the highest wages to teachers than anywhere else in the U.S. averaging $110,000/year.
Their pensions average 80-90% of their income. Wow, are Illinois and Chicago great or what?

Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago ?
Body count: In the last six months, 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago : 221 killed in Iraq AND Chicago has one of the strictest gun laws in the entire US.

Here's the Chicago chain of command:
President: Barack Hussein Obama *
Senator: Dick Durbin *
House Representative: Jesse Jackson Jr. *
Governor: Pat Quinn *
House leader: Mike Madigan *
Atty. Gen.: Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike)*
Mayor: Rohm Emanuel *

The leadership in Illinois - all Democrats.

Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago .
Of course, they're all blaming each other. Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any!

Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country. Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any!

State pension fund $78 Billion in debt, worst in country. Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any!

Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any!

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois . And he is going to 'fix' Washington politics for us?

George Ryan is no longer Governor, he is in prison.
He was replaced by Rob Blajegovitch, who is, that's right, also in prison.
And Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned a couple of weeks ago, because he is fighting to not be sent to...that's right, prison.
The Land of Lincoln where our governors make our license plates.

But you know what?
As long as they keep providing entitlements to the population of Chicago nothing is going to change, except the state will go broke before the country does.

"Anybody who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian."

Some of you might find these data interesting. ALL SHOULD. So, anything more need be said?

Now that IL is a "shall issue" state, here's a list of places you can't carry (compiled by an IL state senator).
"Congratulations, here's your permit, however ...".
Prohibited Areas
The following areas will prohibit the carrying of a concealed weapon:
• Schools, including elementary, secondary, and pre-schools and child care facilities (Operators of a child care facility may possess a firearm, but must keep it in a locked container any time a child is present in the home)
• State property, including the executive, legislative and judicial branches (except designated hunting areas or buildings where firearms are permitted by the Dept. of Natural Resources)
• Local Government buildings
• Adult or juvenile detention centers, priors, jails or other correctional institutions
• Hospitals, mental health facilities and nursing homes
Buses, trains and other forms of public transportation, as well as buildings, property or parking lots under the control of a public transportation facility
• Bars (defined as any establishment that serves alcohol, if more than 50% of its gross receipts are from the sale of alcohol)
• Public gatherings and special events on property open to the public that requires a permit issued by a unit of local government (street fairs, “taste of” events, festivals, etc.)
• Any building or property issued a Special Event Retailers License for the sale of alcohol
• Any public playground
• Parks, athletic fields under the control of a city or park district (does not include a trail or bike path, if only a portion of the trail or bike path includes a public park)
• Property under control of the Cook County Forest Preserve District
• Public and private universities and colleges and community colleges, including classrooms, athletic venues, hospitals, laboratories, performance halls and galleries, as well as parking areas, sidewalks and common areas
• Gaming facilities, horse racing tracks and off-track betting parlors
• College and professional sports facilities
• Libraries
• Airports
• Amusement parks
• Zoos and museums
• Nuclear power plants or other facilities regulated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (no vehicle “safe haven”)
• Any area where firearms are prohibited by federal law (no vehicle “safe haven”)

If you read this list as written, and don't try to read into it, Most (not all) of these restrictions are also present here in Delaware. No state or federal buildings, including post offices, no state parks, and some public shopping areas,  just to name a few.

Please whittle down this list of things apparently allowable in DE but against the proposed law in IL. Secure areas of airports are off limits. These are the items I was trying to draw attention to.

Many of those places dont like you to carry guns in delaware, but they are more guidelines here as opposed to law.
