Rifle range in New Castle County or PA.
« on: November 06, 2013, 07:30:08 PM »
I just bought a Smith & Wesson M&P15 Sport. I am looking for a range in New Castle County that I can shoot it. I am willing to join a club that offers a rifle range. Thanks for the help!

I believe you can shoot that at Ommelanden.  I've shot Wolf .223 there and had no problem, so I can't see why you couldn't.

BUT..  this comes with the caveat of I've been wrong before and will be again LOL

@Beretta92, I also have the same M&P15. Bought it about 18 months ago. I have added a number of accessories which has enhanced it.
Rubber hand grip, Shot Spot (green dot with red laser), Picatinny rail, extra mags, adjustable sling, and a Gissele trigger on the way.
So far I have shot about 700 rounds through it and not a single jam.

PS. I have a couple of extra Magpul Gen 4 magazines for sale. PM me if interested.

Moosie is correct. I've shot my AR15 and Mini 14 at Ommelanden. But it's only a 50 yard rifle range, 25 yard pistol range.

Just NO steel core ammo!  Other than that Moosie and Lums are correct.

I plan to try Ommelanden. So is there no other place to shoot rifles?

I used to work at Dupont and they had a nice range just outside of Newark. They sold it to W.L.Gore and now it is just open land.

We've had a couple of great days up at Wicen's Shooting Range, and we look forward to going there again soon. Nice 100-yard range, very efficient and welcoming staff, very well-run.
It's a bit of a drive, but it was worth it.

I think you can go south to Bridgeville with rifles.

Atglen has ranges out to 500 meters but they only take new members in February.  You can go to one of the events or as a guest to check it out. It is off lancaster pike in pa.

Bridgeville is probably the best range in DE, based on what it offers, benefits to members, quality, cleanliness, and number of individual rifle and pistol areas.
1000yd, 600yd, 100-200-300yd separate areas, 50yd sight in range, 25yd pistol range, plus 4 IDPA  pistol areas. It also has LEO ranges you can use when they are not using.
Also an indoor range, training room, clean restrooms, a reasonable web site that features calendar of events, and email notifications.
Check out their web site for all the particulars.

Bridgeville's website needs some help..  overall, it's great.  But there's ZERO membership info on there.. along with no phone number I could find.

Do you have any info, SeniorGeek??

I found out that I can shoot my AR at Targetmaster at their indoor range. I just have to buy my ammo from them, and their ammo price is very fair.

I have a membership form that I will try to upload in the next post.
The web site is http://bville-rifle-pistol.org/

Most find the old site that doesn't have much at all.
