GROUPS URGE PASSAGE OF EXCISE TAX REFORM
« on: April 29, 2009, 12:50:56 AM »
GROUPS URGE PASSAGE OF EXCISE TAX REFORM . . . Hunting, sportsmen and conservation groups have signed a letter thanking Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) and Rep. Ron Kind (D-Wis.) for their leadership in sponsoring legislation (S. 632 and H.R. 510) that would allow firearms and ammunition manufacturers to pay the required federal excise tax on a quarterly basis, the same payment schedule as every other industry supporting conservation, as opposed to the current bi-weekly schedule. The respective letters urge the lawmakers to utilize their collective resources to ensure quick passage of both bills. Please visit the NSSF Web site to encourage your representatives to support this pro-conservation legislation.
