Bianchi X15 Vert. Shoulder Rig
« on: March 16, 2014, 03:32:49 PM »
As a public notice,  I will no longer be complaining about the Bianchi X15.  It comforts my new 1911 with no complaints other than it's still a tight draw.  But it makes carry a dream for the 1911.  (Old dog - new tricks...just not true.)

I hereby withdraw my previous uneducated comments about this holster.  Still smiling.

What made you change your mind? I'm looking for a rig to carry my PPQ but also a 1911 at times and have been looking at the Miami Classic. Have talked to several people about it with positive words.

The Galco Miami Classic would have been my first choice except for the price tag.  And I was a huge Miami Vice fan.  But the Bianchi was somewhere around $100 (I think).  Since its a universal fit for autos from 3 to 5 inch I carried several different firearms.  I always felt like something didn't balance right or that that there was something huge on left side, even with a small frame pistol.

But the 1911 is very thin with a center of gravity much lower in the holster.  It feels like the 1911 fits like it's made for it.  Close to the body with very little wiggle.  It gives me the option to carry cocked and locked.  The X15 is a breakaway holster that allows a straight pull although the pistol carries vertical.  Very comfortable now but only with the 1911.  Almost makes the 1911 weightless. IMHO!

Thanks. I've fired a few 1911s. We have a Ruger SR1911 CMD and after shooting it quite a bit I want a full sized one for sure. I prefer the PPQ and the extra capacity but really enjoy shooting that SR1911.. complete with an ear to ear grin every time I take it out. The CMD is easy to IWB carry with the MTAC I use but I'm looking for a shoulder rig as well and would like it to work with a couple handguns. Still making up my mind which I want.

I really had no intention of carrying the 1911.  But the awsome awsomness changed my whole perspective.

Years ago I was on the same boat, a Glock die hard. I still luv Glocks, as a matter of fact the only two platforms I am comfortable with are Glock and 1911. But, after I shot a 1911 for the first time I was hooked. I carry a 1911 almost exclusively.
