Saw that earlier today. Made me laugh. It's just funny how all of these firearms instructors are having negligent discharges... Well, not really funny, but you know what I mean.

My take is that when handling a firearm, you should give it your undivided attention. Check and double check. And as always, maintain muzzle control. Don't assume that it won't happen to you.

I wish there were more detail in the report. It's never too late to learn from others mistakes. It states he was teaching his family how to clear a jam from a semi auto pistol. If that was his original intent, he should have used a snap cap. I suspect he was teaching target shooting, and encountered a jam. I wonder how his hand got in front of the muzzle while clearing the jam? Maybe I'll try this with a snap cap and try to figure it out...
