I have a confession to make...don't laugh
« on: September 21, 2014, 01:13:09 PM »
Ok.  So I have always disdained .25 automatics.  Cheap crappy little guns.  Anemic ballistics. I remember reading years ago that a good hatchet would be better in a fight.

So I came across an early 70s Colt Jr.  Couldn't resist the price.

Took it home and found what is actually a well made gun.  Nothing like a Raven or Sterling piece of junk.

So got the chance to go to Targetmaster the other night. Threw the little Colt in my case (really looked like a junior) next to our EDCs and target pistols.

Well have to admit..... I liked it.   My wife loved it. Couldn't get enough.

Easy to disassemble. Easy to clean.

I know what everyone else is gonna say,  but I liked it!

Nothing to laugh at.  Isn't there a stat that indicates more handgun deaths are attributed to .25 and smaller than large rounds?

That is great you found something you like it, we don't all need to like the same thing otherwise life would be soooo boring. I particularly don't care for the caliber, but the gun itself sounds interesting. Have any pictures?

Lots of people are derisive of the smaller calibers, with some good reasons... but nobody is volunteering to be shot with them to prove their point.

The gun you actually have, because it's small enough to carry easily, is better than the one you leave at home because it's too big.

This is interesting, read the same many times around the web. While it does make a point, I do believe it to be an invalid point - I.e. One doesn't need to bang head against wood or brick to find out which hurts more. Or, I wouldn't have to experience being hit by a tennis vs a billiard ball to find out which one hurt/cause more damage.

100% agree.

Rest assured folks that Mr and Mrs "Clarence" will not be carrying Junior around for protection but the little guy will without embarrassment reside in my gun safe. Heck, will even take the little fella out for a field trip now and then.

Yo.. What's wrong with the Raven Arms guns? I have a small collection of them myself. Don't laugh!  ;D Really, I found the history of them interesting and being the original Saturday Night Special a bit of history I own.

Most are in immaculate condition and a few have never been fired. Here is one of my Raven Arms MP-25..

Thats a nice Colt Jr you have there! We don't carry ours at all but as said, I certainly wouldn't wanna be shot by one!

Most that you see have been well abused over the years. This was one of the first I picked up and it was perfect! From what I could tell it still had the original factory grease on it. I cleaned it up and fired a few rounds through it then cleaned it again and is as new again.

Stock photo of the Baby Browning. My photo was too large, and I didn't feel like editing it. Lazy.
