.300 AAC Blackout AR Pistol
« on: November 21, 2014, 01:45:54 AM »
I just got an AR pistol upper chambered in .300 AAC Blackout & will be assembling it onto a "virgin" lower therefore resulting in a legal alternative to an otherwise unobtainable SBR.

As anyone shot one of these?
Is it controllable with one hand?
How is the recoil?
Is it wise (or allowed) to shoot at a pistol range?

I'm trying to get an idea of what to expect before pulling the trigger for the first time.

Will you be using a SIG brace?   How many inch barrel?

I would be interested to find out how the .300 handles as a pistol.

9.5" barrel

These are on sale from CDDN sports:

I'll probably get the Sig brace but curious how it shoots without it.
IMO, in the event of an emergency, relying on the brace is not a good idea.
"Excuse me while I strap this contraption to my arm so that I can shoot you"

They also have .22LR Walther UZI replicas for $229.00-just ordered one of them too.
For more than $2K less than a real one it will be a lot of fun.

Re shooting 300 BLK at a pistol range, this rule probably typical.
"The only allowable center fire ammunition consists of any standard handgun caliber fired in a hand gun or rifle with a maximum velocity of 1500 feet per second."

They might allow the subsonics. @Radnor would know.

WHY?!?  I believe you can get a SBR in DE.  Fed Firearms would be able to confirm that.

Subsonic has been shot there.

SBR is legal in Delaware, however for federal registration you will need Chief Law Enforcement office sign off. Whether you can get this will depend on where you live.  Downstate incorporated towns with PD are possible.  If you live in unincorporated areas and NCC or State Police are your department you are apparently not going to get sign.

Answer to WHY?

-no paperwork
-no need to chase down the chief LEO & beg
-no waiting
-no need to spend $200 on a worthless tax stamp

If the rules should happen to ever change (or SHTF) I can always add a stock with less than 15 min. work.

Plus, there is the personal satisfaction of being able to legally circumvent the idiotic, worthless laws & rub it into the face of those who wrote them.

WHY?!?

My WHY was referring to the "unobtainable SBR".  It's been done in DE and NCC.
