The FNH PS90 as a SBR conversion
« on: December 13, 2014, 08:49:24 PM »
Anyone have one? What's your feelings on them? I'm looking at picking one up as mainly a range toy. Always liked the looks of it myself and have the urge to buy a new firearm  ;D

sbr, I always liked the kriss or umc for that.

the fn, liked it , but did not like the bullet pricing a while back, reloading is tricky at least.  or impossible for newbs.

I had given the Kriss consideration but wasn't looking for another 223/556 platform.. besides, it's fugly!  ;D Discounting all the handgun bull pups as I have that covered under another project. I've fired the FNH handgun and really enjoyed it except for the grip size. Unfortunately I found the grip just a bit to large, a common complaint I'm aware of. I got to handle the PS90 a bit awhile back and liked it. The round itself has advantages and disadvantages when compared to rifle or pistol rounds. I like that's its different and somewhere in between.

I'm still only reloading for handgun right now but I've become comfortable with it and reload most of my range rounds now. Initially I'd likely bulk order a few 1000 rounds and save the brass to reload later.

Still contemplating.. Might have to pop over to see Chris soon. ;D

You're correct and not sure why I thought .223 as I knew it was .45.  ???

Still, think I might pickup a PS90 soon as I like what I've read on the ammo and prefer its look over the other bull pups. See about the SBR conversion later maybe.

I haven't looked into it much yet though think if living in NCC going the Trust route is likely the way to go. I haven't come across anyone here whose had a local LEO sign off on one. Not saying it hasn't, just that I haven't run across anyone saying so yet. Personally I like the idea of a trust for NFA weapons.

I have had my form signed up by the Chief of Police, still seating on my drawer. I like the coolness factor, was really excited at some point, but unless I move to PA where I can also get a suppressor I am not going to apply for the stamp just for the SBR.

My understanding is that would require two stamps. One for the SBR and a second for the suppressor. I'm sure you are aware of that but it wasn't clear. Which county was the Chief of Police if you don't mind my asking.

Yes, just to make clear on both posts, not only you would need two stamps but if you are going the Chief Law Enforcement route you would need two signatures as well. Each NFA item requires one stamp. A Trust is also a good option as you don't need to get a signature everytime you apply for a stamp. For me a SBR without a suppressor is not appealing.

So we get the law amended or simply have the suppressor ban removed  ::)
