City of Dover Open Carry Permit
« on: December 19, 2014, 05:00:05 PM »
Does anyone know if the City of Dover Open Carry Permit remains valid after the Chief of Police is renamed?

No expiration date. Just because the Chief  changed, don't see why it would be invalid.  If the judge that issues your CCW license retired it would still be valid.

Thanks Clarence.  That's the thought I'm going with.  Do you know if the new Chief has the same philosophy that he the retired Chief had?

I see on the open carry forum that the new chief continues to issue the letters. If you request one, let us know how you make out. I imagine that he would have to gives a reason for a denial. I know of no one who was denied when they have requested one.

The court decision earlier this year would appear to make it difficult to deny without cause.
