Filed in Sussex County 1/8/15
« on: January 29, 2015, 04:23:10 PM »
Hello All,

New to the forum, but I had a few questions regarding the CCW process. I filed my complete packet with the Prothonotary in Sussex on 1/8/15. However, I got my fingerprints and background check done at SBI in Dover the day before. Does anyone have a real world estimate of how long the prints and background checks take if you get them done at SBI as opposed to a local troop?

Thanks in advance.

We did ours at the Dover SBI as well. There is no telling how long it takes as 'we' do not receive them. SBI forwards everything to the courts themselves.

I'm going to say about 8 weeks. They process permit renewals before they process new applications, so I'm told. I submitted my renewal on Jan. 5th. I am told it may be back next week. Here's hoping .

Sussex county is usually pretty quick in returning your permit. I received mine in about 9 weeks, but that was about 2 years ago.
Welcome to the waiting game.
