Been checking out this forum for some time, glad to finally become a member.  Permit received about two weeks ago after two and a half month wait (Kent County).  Looking forward to learning more about the lifestyle.

Thanks.  Expect to carry when ever and where ever I legally can.  Still focusing on concealment practices, best holster and clothing, etc.  Carring Smith and Wesson M&P Shield in 9mm.

Welcome aboard!
Your carry weapon is like a seat belt: you should always be wearing it, not just when you think there might be an accident.

Welcome.  I also carry a Shield currently and after MANY (MANY!!!) holsters I have settled on a Crossbreed.  It's the only one I found that I can consistently wear all day in any weather.  It does a great job at concealment as well...more than a few other I tried.  I wear it regularly with just a well fitting t-shirt and there is no printing.  My next favorite was Alien Gear, but I think my waist was just a little too small for how wide the Kydex is on the Alien Gear.  I could never get it in a comfortable position where the frame of the gun wasn't printing.

Good luck and stay safe!

I took the class, then collected al the other paperwork and submitted on 5 February.  Took about ten weeks to receive it.  I use a Galco holster sometimes, but have found the Bianchi Fold-away to be comfortable, inexpensive, and, should I have to secure my gun temporarily, it fits flat against my belt.  I suspect I'll collect a few holsters before long.

Always great to see new members log on here.  May I suggest that Federal Firearms (greetings to you above) be a contact for your future hardware inquires.  He has proved a super resource with the most interesting inventory I have ever seen.

Just received permit today here in NewC.  Submitted it on Jan. 30, 4.5 months not too bad considering I was told 6 months. This site has been a help to me.  Thanks everyone!
