New to the first state!
« on: June 16, 2016, 06:06:35 AM »
Hi my name is Steve I recently moved to Delaware from NJ  :o it's very nice to reside in a state that doesn't hate you for owning a firearm and make purchasing a handgun a second job. I searched for Delaware related forums where I could gain some information on private pistol and rifle ranges around me. I live in Middletown. I eventually would like to get my concealed carry but that's a little down the road for me after I do some learning and spend some time with a handgun I'd choose to carry. I do a lot of hunting really and I enjoy shooting. I realize this may not be the best forum for the information I'm looking for but I'd like to find a range with at least a 300yd rifle range and a pistol range.

Welcome Steve.

DE is a little better the the PRNJ.

As far as ranges I'd say Brandywine Hundred R&G club or Bridgeville.  JoeT, input please?
Since you said at lease 300 yd, Bridgeville.

When you are ready for the CC, I can help there.

After you have your CC stuff, check out Action Pistol at DSPC dspclub.org

Brandy wine hundred would be awesome I actually live in port penn I said middle town because I'd figure more people would get the idea of my location that way. I've asked a few guys at work about brandy wine and they said it was very hard to get into.

Welcome Steve!!

On a side note, how would one contact BHRGC? Every page on their site is password protected and there is no contact info.

Welcome. Delaware is a small state. We pretty well know where every town a cross-roads is. Advise for a newbie...stay below the canal as much as possible, stay out of New Jersey as much as possible, keep your powder dry and you guns loaded and handy.

Welcome to the best forum Steve.  I absolutely loved NJ when I was younger but now I have to stand up for the Bill of Rights. Looking forward to hearing about your experiences.  This is a great place to hang out.

Oh Yea.  Don't put off getting your application together.  The processing will seem to drag anyway.
