Open cary
« on: August 23, 2016, 01:54:45 PM »
does anyone here open carry. i went to my CC class on sunday, it's the first time i've walked around with a gun in a holster. still not sure how i feel about doing that out in public. seen a guy a month ago doing it at a car sow, i was a little un-nerved seeing it. so i don't know how i'd feel being that guy myself.

I did it for a while during the wait for my permit.  I don't really go out that much but mainly to the grocery store,  for walks around my complex,  and some other places I would go but I never had an issue while carrying.  It seems like most people dont even take notice to it.  They are either to busy with their faces buried in their phones or whatever else they are doing.

Never had that problem at all.  I was always very low keyed kept my strong side out of view when I could.  Went to Texas road house a few times no one even too a notice to it.

I read it as fat-fingered figure but couldn't resist the pun.

no need to apologize.  We all make mistakes. Provides an opportunity for a little friendly humor. It is part of the forum culture.  I usually see my mispellings, bad grammar, and ambiguous language immediately after posting and hit the 'modify' button to repair the goofs.

I open carry frequently, especially during the warmer months. Never had a problem and never been asked to leave an establishment. Having said that, I do not open carry in places I know are not 2nd amendment friendly. I have gotten into several interesting conversations with people who see me open carrying and approach to ask questions. Oh yea.....a lot of surprised looks from time to time however.

might I suggest that rather than "forget you even have it on", a better description is that "after a while it becomes a natural part of your wardrobe".  It should be comfortable to wear as much as possible but always be mindful that you carrying a deadly device.  Situational awareness needs to constantly be Condition Yellow or above. Know where the prohibited areas are.
