Picked it up today from Federal Firearms. Can't thank Chris enough. He called me to let me know it was in. He sounded just as excited as i was. He said" you have a beautiful 1911 sitting here waiting for you.

just need the tool to take it apart. will be a bit before i can get to the range, but can't wait to get it there. just gotta keep the finger prints off it, lol

There is no tool to field strip a 1911, and for the first 2k-3k rounds it is really all you need.

Yes.. What mythical tool are you referring to? No tools are required for a 1911 field strip and should takes seconds to do. Fingerprints are good  ;D

Freakshow, you are speaking of "detail stripping", at your shop, kitchen table, etc. Field stripping is simply removing the slide, barrel, etc at the range for a quick check or cleaning. Cheers!
