State Buildings
« on: May 04, 2023, 06:49:59 PM »
So, I know I've seen state buildings as a restricted place, but cannot for the life of me find it in any sort of writing.

What I have seen is that if there is a location restriction there must be "conspicuous" signage informing you that firearms are not allowed. The example I'm thinking of specifically is DelDOT, which is a state building, but it has no signage noting that.

If anyone has any more insight on this I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

If I see a metal detector, I usually leave the gun in the car, but I go almost everywhere.  If I get caught in a no-no zone, shame on me.

I may be wrong but I'm under the impression that all Government Buildings (state and federal) are fire- arms restricted.

From handgunlaw.us:
Quote
Carrying of a Firearm Is Prohibited In
 Federal Buildings
 State approved "SLOTS"
Courthouses, police stations, prisons and other detention facilities’ (Title 11 § 1256 & § 1258).
Wildlife Management Areas (Del. Regulation 8.3.4.1).
The counties can prohibit in certain places  if they place signs in conspicuous areas.
That's all I could find.

Yeah, I’ve seen that from handgunlaw, but I can’t find any text of the law that actually states that.

I’ve looked over as much delaware code as I can find and haven’t found anything. If anyone has a link, I’d really appreciate it.
