My license arrived
« on: October 30, 2016, 03:49:00 AM »
My CCDW license arrived today, but only after a handful of emails and a few phone calls to Dale Broome. I filed March 15th and was expecting an early summer present. My references were sterling, although none were contacted, and my record is squeaky clean, well except for those numerous pesky speeding tickets of my youth, which ended a few decades ago. I was heeding the advice of members of this forum to be patient, Superior Court and the Prothonotary’s office both deal with lots of important issues, but when it got to be early September I emailed Dale, inquiring about my license application. She responded promptly, saying my paperwork was approved June 29th but was flagged for some issue and that she was looking into that. Later that day she left a voice mail to say everything was in order and that my license would be printed and mailed soon.  A few emails to Dale went unanswered. After seven more weeks my definition of soon had expired and I called Dale on Thursday.  Again she was helpful and ended up telling me that she would personally put it in the mail by the end of the day. She did and it arrived today.
I never asked why I was not contacted in June if there was an issue, mostly out of fear of being shuffled to the bottom of the obviously very high pile.
I’ll be heading to Lancaster next week for the 20 minute PA version.

Congrats on receiving your permit. Carry safe and smart and remember our permits dont make us cops. ;D

Evidently, Dale Broome is a force of nature.
Maybe Kent and Sussex should have such a person?

Did she tell you why you were flagged?

Did she tell you why you were flagged?

It may have been something as simple as confusion with someone else with the same or similar name.

Whatever the reason was, I'm a happy camper now. The wait is in the past, a lesson in patience. Thanks for the  well wishes and all the advice I gleaned from this forum.

Congrats!
Here is my experience e-mailing Dale Broome three years ago and early this year:
- when the subject line was "CCDW Inquiry", she responded promptly
- when I replied, i.e., subject line was "Re: CCDW Inquiry", I received no response. I suspect that she runs an e-mail filter that only accepts "CCDW Inquiry"
- My e-mails were short and to the point, e.g., Hi, this is "name". Just wanted to verify that my renewal was in the system. Thanks.

I can attest to that. I used that subject line from one of your earlier posts when I first emailed her in September.

Congratulations!  I also found that emails were best when to the point.  I didn't have much of an issue, but did check in at one point.  Stay smart and stay safe!
