Passerby (CCW permitted) saves cop

This man is a hero.  No charges should be brought against him (undecided).

I completely agree that he is a hero, and in no way should they charge him with anything. But knowing how the system works in odd ways sometimes, for the sake of discussion, what if charges are brought against him? Could he claim that the officer deputized him when he told him "shoot him, shoot him"!?

He was following orders given to him by a law enforcement officer.

I think the statement questioning if charges could be brought is just boiler plate journalism when ever there is a self defense shooting.

Charges in that solid red county would probably result in a two second not guilty and a recall election of the county prosecutor.
