M&P Shield Ported 9mm ammo
« on: December 06, 2016, 12:04:54 PM »
Have been reading about low flash ammo to use in the ported 9mm, has anyone had any problem with the low light flash/blinding from shooting in low light conditions, what carry ammo is being used....Thanks

I've just switched to Underwood ammo.

For AP I use full power handloads.  Shot them in bright light,
low light, no light, and by flashlight.  Never really noticed it
BUT I'm not shooting a ported barrel either.  I'm concentrating
on the COF.

What was noticed was by the guy running AP was
significantly less flash.

While shooting them the only thing I noticed was they were
louder than my hand loads.

The Underwoods are 200gn 45 ACP running at 1100fps.

What county?  We shoot AP in different light conditions.

Just looked, your ISP is phila.fios so your in NCC.
Want to try ammo in different light conditions?
Something hard to do at Ommalanden or TM.

If you call them (Underwood) chances are good you'll speak to the owner.

Hey Radnor,  Thanks for the info, yep in NCC have a couple of friends with property I can try different times of the day, will do that soon to see if the flash is a big concern.  My gut is if I'm in a situation then I am not going to be thinking or worrying about flash and will just reacting at that point
