What would the legal ramifications be if you were forced to use your gun in self defense in a public place that bans guns?

The signs do not have force of law, so you're not breaking any laws... so, none.
IANAL, YMMV.

What I posted wasn't a sign, it was conditions of membership that requires you to digitally accept before proceeding.  I wonder if that might carry more legal weight than a sign.

Yeah... Costco, where a corporate policy on their Web site says you can't carry... or BJ's, which charges more, looks like a post-apocalyptic Home Depot, and is second only to WalMart as a place where you will probably NEED to carry.
I'll stick with Costco.

Let's look at the situation this way:
| CC?| Event| Probability| Impact
| Yes| CC not detected| Very high| None
| Yes | CC detected| Low| Asked to leave premises
| No| SHTF | Very low| Serious to catastrophic
| Yes| SHTF | Very Low| Event avoided, prevented, or neutralized

Take your pick. I've made my decision.
Just a smelly deplorable dreg of society clinging to God and guns.

Don't have a Costco in lower slower Delaware. I guess we're just lucky that way.

If that place is Costco, you might not be able to shop there anymore!

Like it has been said, you might not be able to shop there. There would be no criminal ramifications, but if you were to be sued civilly, and a scum bag lawyer could bring this up to a biased jury, you would be screwed.

Yeah, well, we shop there... same as we shop at the mall, and go to the movies. F*** their signs, they're not scaring us off. We have as much right to be there as anyone else.

I hear that, I carry every time we go to Costco, they don't need to know a @@@@ thing.  On a side note, took my little guy to the doctors this morning, walking right by a "no firearms allowed" sign.  Had my Glock 21 on me and nobody but me knew I had it.  Hell with those signs, I'm packing, sign or no sign.

What I'm saying is, we don't have a Costco, and you don't miss what you've never had. We will survive without them.

They do a household income analysis when scouting new areas, and have previously stated that there wouldn't be any Delmarva Penninsula locations further south than Christiana.  But, you're right, we were able to survive before the countless new stores opened in Delaware.
Very few guns are actually "illegal guns."  A gun misappropriated by a criminal is no more of an "illegal gun" than a stolen car is an "illegal car."

If you are speaking of Shooters Choice, that hasn't been the case for quite sometime. Keep your weapon holstered and you are fine.
