Non-resident permits
« on: May 06, 2017, 12:56:23 AM »
Has anyone heard that starting September 23, 2017 that Delaware will no longer honor any non-resident permit from the states they honor? I just read this on handgunlaw.us.
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms…disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes…

I just checked the Delaware page on handgunlaw.us, and the AG's reciprocity page, and didn't find that in either place...?

That was posted briefly on AG's website back in Feb and then retracted.
The AG website contains this sentence " [The Department apologizes for misleading language with respect to this process that was posted from Feb. 10-15, 2017.]"

To make  a change in mid year is illegal.  I suspect they were testing the waters.  Let's see what happens in January.

We can always hope that S.446, H.R.38, or a combination thereof is signed into law by President Trump thereby rendering the reciprocity issue moot.

It should be treated by a drivers licenses. It really makes no sense he way it's done.

The chances of either of Delaware's US Senator or Representatives voting to pass either HR 38 or S446 is pretty much a no brainer. They will vote "NO" on both. Delaware is a Monocracy and there is no support for rights or freedom here as long as the Democrats are in office. And since most of the butt heads think it id in their DNA to be Democrat, I guess they will never change.
