I just want to know why the military thinks it needs a gun that civilians own.  ;D

Beretta and Sig are excellent pistols. I guess it comes down to whatever caliber helps our military get shots on target is behind the change. Different hand sizes and strength makes this change appropriate in my opinion with the opportunity to change calibers. Some may be more accurate with 9mm and some can handle 40. I like the 1911 45 but it is a little harder for me to get rounds on target.

Back before time I ran the USMC pistol range in Ewa Beach HI.  The 1911 was king.  The range was home to NRA gold medal matches so a lot of rounds went down range.  I saw my share of stove pipes, mis-feeds, mis-fires, and wobbly rounds.  Nonetheless, I fell in love with the 1911.  Nowadays I see the need for better tech weapons and I can appreciate the US Army's choice.  Wish I had one.

There's a fund raiser for the sight!  Draw for a P320!!

Looks like Glock isn't too happy with the decision and may have a modular pistol in the works.

I tried a P320 at Targetmaster and liked it, but I also tried the new S&W 2.0 in 9mm and actually liked it a little better and it is much less expensive. I am partial to Glocks, but it may be time for them to step their game up a little.

I love my P320c, can't ask for a more comfortable gun and its a nail driver. The P320c has been my cow weapon since before it was cool.  ;D

"An officer in the Stamford department has filed a federal lawsuit after he claims that his holstered P320 fell, hit the ground in a parking lot while he was loading gear, and fired. The bullet struck him in the back of the leg and lodged near his kneecap, according to the lawsuit."
