Bushmaster has a few. I have the QRC from Federal Firearms and am happy. Put a scope and bipod on it. Shoots straight. It came with a red dot that's in my safe. I like the scope for range time. You will be surprised how many manufactures are in your price range.

i looked on line for the best 10 for under 800 and find that the Bushmaster QRC comes up in every list, along with the S&W sport15 and the Rugger 556
But the Bushmaster does come with that red dot, most others within the price range don't. and it's a great price

i will look at those too, thanks Chris. My wife and i are going to look them over and order one from you. She loves the bodyguard she got from you. She's got convinced into buying from just you because she felt comfortable being there and that you and your wife were so nice.

Ever think about "rolling your own"?   It's a lot of fun. You and Mrs Freak Show can do it together.
That is guaranteed to tick off a collectivist / socialist.

Chris will sell you the stripped lower.  After that you can customize to the inth degree.

The Springfield Saint is a solid choice.  I've had good experiences with Stag in the past and there are a couple of Colts that are also in your price point.

I also explored the ak's over at Federal Firearms. They are also in your price range. 5.56 and 7.62 ammo are similar in price. Just another option.

There are so many AR's too choose from and I'm sure Chris can hook you up.
Good thing is Prices came way down!  ;D
Which means you'll get more for your money. Maybe with the price savings you can get a nice Vortex or Similar optic  :o  ;D
just saw something recently for like $400 with very little if not free shipping.
I would not suggest building your own at first.
Instead I would suggest you buy one already assembled and ready to fire
There are several reasons why I don't suggest building one yourself.
The cost for specialty tools can add up if you don't have any tools it would be better to put the extra $$$$ towards the purchase of a complete rifle.
Mismatched or wrong parts are another reason, it rarely happens but sometimes you can order something by mistake and not be able to use it or return it.
I would say get something of quality and learn the ins and outs of the weapon first then maybe build your own down the road.
I think my next rifle will either be .308 in some form or another.
I am seriously thinking about a Savage Axis II XP for plinking  ;D

Good luck in your Search
I just thought of this but you can go to some big box stores if you have any down your way and look around and maybe figure out what you like and then see Chris.
