1911 in 9mm. Just love it. I need a vertical shoulder rig because it isn't a light weapon.

Saw this article today and wonder if any of you have one of these H&K 9mm pistols:

I'm a little late seeing this and responding, but I'd agree that the USP Compact is about as tough a gun as you'll find.  Years ago, I had one in .40 S&W and the thing just worked no matter what.  Like an genius, I ended up trading it in toward a 1911 that turned out to be a heaping turd (it was a Kimber TLE II).  I will say this of the USP Compact, it's not exactly the most concealable thing out there in its size class.  It's a bit like a Sig P229, kind of a fat kid.

I carry a glock 43 9mm or .357 hammerless j frame. The revolver conceals a little better.

I'm always carrying a Glock 29 with 11 rounds of Underwood 10mm, and a second 10 round magazine, in a Safepacker.
I usually drop an additional Glock 20 magazine in an offside pocket with 15 more rounds. There's another Glock 20 magazine in my center console.

I had a 9mm Glock 43, but my sister needed a firearm and really liked it, so... easy come, easy go!

Generally 9mm, occasionally .45.

When I need to pocket carry or "lite" belt carry, I go with a hammerless J-frame in .38.

Everybody went berserk for Glocks years back because the Police and Military had contracts with Glock. So, that was the gun you just had to have. Now everybody has Glocks and the Police and Military are switching to other manufacturers. Go figure.

Looks like Sig, HK, FN, and others are getting the contracts now.

I've had my Ruger SR9 for quite a few years now and tried 3  other major names when I bought it. Liked the feel and balance and that it was made in Arizona USA. No foreign parts. All American. I'll probably keep it the rest of my life and then pass it on to my son, daughter, grandkids, or great grand kids.
I have guns that were passed down to me by my great grand father from the late 1800's and they will get them too.

I love the SR9 and 40. What an easy gun to field strip. Would love to own a 40 one day. I have a Smith & Wesson SD9VE, so i imagine the full capacity 40 wouldn't feel much different. My daily carry has been my shield 45 but for the past few days it's been the Taurus 357. Not much difference in feel by weight in the holster.
