Looking to get a Revolver
« on: March 08, 2018, 11:24:02 PM »
Looking for a Revolver. I want a 357, 4 to 5 inch barrel doesn't have to be new. Would like to stay within 500. I like the Tarus model 66, Like the S&W 686 too, but they are a little more than i want to pay. Opinion? any other i should look at?

This 8-shot Taurus is a lot of revolver for the money.

Ruger Sp101 is a nice frame. I also own one in the LCRx frame.

The ruger or 686 will hold a lot more value over time than a Taurus

to answer the question... Chris at Federal!!!!!!  If he doesn't have it or can't get it, you don't need it.  And very helpful in selecting the one right for you.  I like the S&W 686.  Heavy frame, solid gun, well made.

Chris/Federal is the only place i go. My wife and i point everyone we know to his place. Just yesterday my step son bought an AR 15 there, last week my foot doctor went there.

Agreed. Stopped in to pick up a few magazines on Friday (nobody else has 40-round PMAGs around here, only Chris)... and he just happened to have the exact AR-10 my friend was looking for. So, the friend picked it up Saturday, and we tested it out this morning.
Chris is very good at stocking what people actually want.

on their web site they have them in 45 and 357.. but i think i'm just fascinated with cowboy looking guns. Not interested in plinking. I prefer to use guns out of necessity and with a specific purpose, protection.

I'm quite fond of my Smith & Wesson Model 64. It's well worn, but still a good shooter. I'm perfectly content with .38 Special, but if you absolutely insist on .357 Magnum, then look for a Model 65. It's the same gun with a slightly longer cylinder.
