I had sent out an email to 22 members of the Senate and House yesterday.  My Representative, Steve Smyk, called me today.  We talked about the bills ans Steve asked that EVERYONE write their members of the House and Senate as well as others.  We need to overwhelm them.  He also asked that we flood the newspapers with letters against the bills.  He estimated that maybe one in five letters would be published but we need to try.

He said he was talking to one of the NCC Reps and was asked why you need more than one gun?  Steve said that a gun is just a tool and different guns are used for different things.  Steve said have you ever tried to eat a squirrel that was shot with a shotgun?  The NCC Rep asked (a little horrified) why would you even eat a squirrel?  Steve said this shows just how much they live in a different world than us.

So, lets do what we can to get these bills defeated.

Amendment by Mitchell placed with bill.  Mitchell is the sponsor of HB 375. Another reason to have a DE CCDW.
Introduced on:   5/3/18
Primary Sponsor:   Mitchell
Additional Sponsor(s):
Co-Sponsor(s):
Original Synopsis:   This Amendment does the following: (1) Redefines the prohibited capacity of large-capacity magazine to be 17 rounds instead of 10 rounds. (2) Permits those individuals who hold a valid concealed deadly weapons license under § 1441 of Title 11 of the Delaware Code to continue to be able to purchase, receive, or possess a large-capacity magazine.

We can’t let them pick off the opposition with a higher limit and the CCDW exemption.  This is still in infringement on our constitutional rights.  They are also turning a CCDW into a license for legitimate self-defense weapons. Not One Inch!

We can not allow division between any groups that are pro 2A. Divide & conquer  is a strategy me must not allow to put like minded people against each other.

Good points. By exempting CCDW, they can leave us complacent but still at their whim of granting permits.

Nice try Mitchell, only a small minded narcissist would fall for this. Such a blatant attempt at dividing us.

Radnor........they are obviously not concerned about the crime rate, gun crime, etc., since all of the legislation is aimed at law abiding citizens.  They want to disarm us, end of statement.

It is becoming too apparent that this current legislature is bent on making half of Delaware citizens criminals, with the stroke of a pen.

Passed out of committee. Placed on Ready List. Of 11 members, only six voted; all "On its Merits".

AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 11 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO PROHIBITED CONDUCT IN CONNECTION WITH LARGE-CAPACITY MAGAZINES.
Committee:   Judiciary
Number of Members:   11
Date of Report:   5/9/18
Committee Vote:   Favorable: 0  On its Merits: 6  Unfavorable: 0
Purpose of Bill:
This Act prohibits the manufacture, sale, purchase, transfer, or delivery of large-capacity magazines accepting more than 10 rounds. This Act makes such possession unlawful only if it occurs in a public place while in possession of a firearm capable of accepting it. Possession of a large-capacity magazine in areas that are not public places remains legal and this Act permits the possession and use of large-capacity magazines at shooting ranges. A violation of this Act is a class A misdemeanor for a first offense and a class G felony for any subsequent offense.
Committee Findings:
Members of the committee commended the bill's purpose, but had concerns with the magazine threshold, even with the amendment increasing it to 17 rounds. The bill was still released.

I just can’t understand why we pass more laws when it’s already illegal to commit murder? I find it odd there’s no mention of doing anything that really protect the schools. I know , I know ..this has nothing to do with school safety . I agree but they do a horrible job of covering up their agenda.

On 5/3/18, HB 375 was amended  to raise the limit of large capacity from 10 rounds to none over17 rounds. It  also exempts  those with a DECCW.
