just filed my app today.. was told 4-6 months ..."are you serious?"

like the title says I went to the court house today and turned in everything... Then I asked how long they thought it would take and I was told 4-6 months. When I asked why they asked why am I rushing to carry a cdw.   I hope they are wrong and it is just 3 months like most people

what sucks is that i had everything together over a month ago but dint have time to get up there to give it to them... I hope they are wrong.. 6 months will seem like a life time

I believe that, I mailed everything in the beginning of October and I haven't heard from them yet other then them cashing my check.  I guess there is no money in the budget to get more staff to work on CCWs.

I'm not surprised at the wait, it seems like the number of permits keep going up, two years ago the wait was only 90 days.

i wonder in a year or two if the wait will get longer or shorter? might just be a mad rush just like with the rise of handgun sales since the obama admin took over. it is a small state eventually everyone who wants one will have it, lol

Is the total number of DE CCW permit holders published each year?  How about a total national number?

I don't believe a total number is published in DE or Nationally. Not sure but I could be wrong.

Given how much trouble the ag's office is having just prosecuting criminals lately, it shouldn't be a surprise that its taking so long for them to investigate ccdw applications. Lately its gotten to the point that they are refusing to even take on some criminal cases and trying to push them to civil court.

Wow, I'm due for renewal in 2010.  Guess I'll get my stuff together and get it in ASAP.

Permits are renewed by the Courts not the AG's office (not yet anyway) so getting your renewal should only be 2/3 weeks

Aries other then Pasport photos and the application filled out and a check is their anything else needed for renewal?
