Scams on Craigslist
« on: February 18, 2020, 10:54:52 PM »
Lately there have been a lot of scammers on Craigslist. I do a lot of buying and selling on Craigslist as I buy Boats and Trailers and Utility Trailers and refurbish them and resell them as something to do in my retirement from spring to fall.
Be aware of the scammers that advertise Enclosed trailers that have a price like $1070, and are obviously worth 3-5 times that much. Like the old saying," if it looks too good to be true, it probably is". Also beware of ads for trailers and tractors with Gmail addresses across the pictures with female names, like betty29benner@gmail.com, these are scams.
Also there are items advertised that are 4-5 years old but have a new factory picture of the item. And another scam is scammers take a picture of a trailer, car, truck, boat, in someone's driveway and use the picture and a cheapy price to lure you in, but really all they want is you personal info to bombard you with email and text and sell your phone numbers to other scammers.
