I applied in June, so based on what people are saying, it might be next spring before I get mine.  :-\

And yes, I'm obviously NCC as well.

I wonder what the bottleneck is. Like, why are they taking so long compared to Kent and Sussex?

I'd let them know anyway.

I contacted my representative (Kevin Hensley, Middletown) and he was gracious enough to listen.

I told him how it was a shame that California is now processing applications faster than New Castle County. He explained that it wasn't the first time people have complained to him about it, and said he would investigate further.

He said New Castle County used "we have more applicants" as an excuse. I sent Mr. Hensley the statistics proving that not to be the case. New Castle has 10,000ish CCDWs, Kent has 6,000ish, and Sussex has 7,000ish. If that was the case, Kent/Sussex would be processing applications in 60% and 70% of the time, respectively. Instead, we see applications for Kent/Sussex go through in 1-3 months, while New Castle takes 5+ months, easily.

I also called the prothonotary's office today and Dale Broome's voicemail says she'll be on vacation until September 13th. It's currently October 1st.  ???

If they cannot keep up with demand they should add people to process them.

Fool, we are talking about a gument that does not want any of us to have that freedom.  They consider that, keeping guns off the street.

It's funny: since I moved to Arizona, I've barely thought about permits.
I just carry concealed wherever I want. So does anyone else who is so inclined.

I would need a permit to carry in bars, but I hate bars anyway. (I'll get one to carry in Delaware, in the unlikely event I ever see Delaware again).

It's beautiful here, warm and dry... Tucson is the most drought-resistant city in the state, and real estate is relatively cheap...
