Thanks Clarence. I've been approved and need to go pick up my permit. I used DE references. Nice drive to York coming up 😃

Question. Your 2 references for the PA permit. Do they need to be PA residents?

No, I used 2 of my 5

Remember that on your way to York you or anyone else with ANY license may carry in your vehicle.  ( but not concealed on the street).

Here is PA law listing the exemption:

Title 18 6106 exemption 11

            (11)  Any person while carrying a firearm in any vehicle,
which person possesses a valid and lawfully issued license
for that firearm which has been issued under the laws of the
United States or any other state

Be careful on that drive. I went on Wednesday and in that one trip I saw lots of roadkill including deer on the side of the road. I also saw an overturned truck in the median with the driver trapped inside. I've seen so many serious accidents in the past few weeks. People are making a lot of dumb mistakes.

PLUS they MUST provide secure storage if you must disarm.
Wish Delaware did.

Did the York run today on a beautiful fall day. Not a bad trip. Very friendly and helpful at their satellite office. Now I'm licensed in DE and PA. 😃

Congratulations.   Guess we will have to do that in 2023 unless Lancaster and/or Berks revert to issuing non resident again.   It will be quite a hike from lower Sussex

Would be great if at least one of the surrounding counties would issue non-residents Chester, Delaware, Burk or Lancaster would be less of a hassle...

Apply online:

Individuals who are 21 years of age or older and are NOT Pennsylvania residents may apply for a license by submitting a completed Application for a Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms along with the required fee.  A Pennsylvania license cannot be issued to a resident of another state who does not possess a current unrestricted  license or permit, or similar document to carry a firearm issued by their home state if a license is provided for by the laws of that state, as published annually in the Federal Register by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms of the Department of the Treasury.

Is Delaware County (Media) now issuing to non-residents?   The link seems to say you must be a Delaware County resident.

To clarify, I called the Delco Sheriffs office and was informed that irregardless of the contradictory statements on the website, they do issue new and renewable LTCF licenses to Delaware residents who hold a valid Delaware CCDW license.   Can be done on line so that you need only make one trip to Media.

I don't mind the trip to Media, but parking around the courthouse is tough.
