PA new issue
« on: February 07, 2022, 10:14:15 PM »
I have a friend that finally received his DE after an 8 month wait.  He is looking for a PA lic now.  Where are they being issued now.  So many have stopped or are difficult.

York County.  Apply on line and receive an appointment as to when to show up.  Picture taken and hand over 20 bucks and good to go.  Problem is about a 3 1/2 hr trip each way from south east Sussex County. Hour and 3/4 from New Communist County

Wouldn't it be great if the people of Lancaster County would wise up and elect a Republican Sheriff, and he reinstituted the PA. Non-Resident permit again through his office?
Oh well, I can dream can't I?

I'll be going to the York Satellite Office on Wednesday.
I have a Lancaster CCW, but I don't believe York considers
it a reissue.
I'll post how I make out. I used the Online application,
and so far it has been fast and easy.

Just got home from the York, PA trip.
I can't say enough good things about the York County Sherriff's office.
In and out in five minuets, with a bathroom break!
A couple of things I didn't know...
Even with an existing Lancaster County License, York is a new license,
not a renewal. They took my Lancaster County License, as it was still
active for about 60 more days. You can't have more than one Out of
State Pennsylvania License at a time.

York is the closest at this time. Received mine in Dec. Went to their satellite office right off route 30 and they were very accommodating, even took me in an hour early. Make a day and hit the outlets in Lancaster 👍

Thanks, York is what I recommended.  But he has the same problem most of us have, he has to work for a living.  Darn communists....  "shall not be infringed"!!!!!!

Is 45 N. George St., 1st Floor York, Pa. 17401 the actual main office or the satellite office?

If you use the Online Application, (which I highly recommend),
When you arrive at the Office at your "Scheduled Time" you are
already processed. Show the Officer your Delaware Drivers License,
your Delaware Concealed Carry Permit, and your Pennsylvania
Concealed Carry Permit (if you currently have one). Best to have
them in your hand when called to the counter, as this is the first
thing the Officer will want to see.
You will be asked to sign a statement acknowledging that your
Pennsylvania Concealed Carry Permit is contingent on the status
of your Delaware Permit, and you are required to inform the
York County Sherriff's Department of any changes to your
Delaware Permit.
When the Officer hands you your Permit, check it carefully for
accuracy or mistakes. If anything is incorrect, it is like starting
the process from the beginning. It is better to find any errors
before walking away from the counter.
It probably goes without saying, but do not bring your firearm with you.
It isn't allowed in the building. Other things not allowed are,
cell phones, cameras, pagers, radios, compact disk players, any type of
recording device, pepper spray, mace, tools, cutting instruments,
electronic games, food or drink.

Thanks for the great info.  When you do the online form are you required to provide pictures (as files uploaded to the app) with the online app or do you just need to show them once you arrive in person and are called to the counter?

You need to upload color copies with your online application.
but the Officer wants to see your originals when you get there
to verify the copies.
I think that's what you meant... if not, I'll try again.

I got the feeling you are not comfortable with uploading .JPG files.
Take a picture of the front and back of your DE Drivers license,
your DE Carry Permit, and your PA Carry Permit, with your cell phone
and then E-mail them to yourself. Once you have them in E-mail,
attach them to the application with the "attach here" tab provided on
the York website. (Copy/Paste) It really isn't as hard as it sounds.
I usually get one of my grandkids to help me. They have this stuff
down cold.
