Constitutional Carry Marches On
« on: March 15, 2022, 10:02:23 AM »
Over the weekend Alabama and Ohio became the 22nd and 23rd states to no longer require a license to carry concealed.  The Indiana legislature has sent a bill to the governor and Georgia and Nebraska have bills moving toward approval.

Hopefully soon we will be able to say that Constitutional Carry is the law in the majority of the states.

Heard on WGMD this morning Delaware has the 5th most restrictive process for obtaining CCDW in the Nation.
For what that's worth!

I think it actually IS the most difficult among the states that actually will give you the license.

Forget New Jersey, New York, Maryland, California

Should also say most expensive.

The newspaper ad ( also law since 1911) runs $75 or so.   Fingerprints $69.  License itself $65 Picture $8.    Training $150-250.  and of course ammo.   $$$$

I might be off on some of these but bottom line is about  $400 to $500.  No wonder some choose to Open Carry (free)

Renewal is of course better and much in line with other states.

I don't mind having to jump through some hoops and having to demonstrate competency and safety for the community but I dont think it should be cost prohibitive and I don't like having to go around requesting references and telling everyone that I keep firearms in the house. I also think we should be shall issue not may issue.

Georgia has passed and governor will sign.  Now at 25, half of all states.  19 years ago only one state Vermont which never had a concealed carry law.

Maryland will have to be first, because I've noticed Delaware only follows what MD does.  Like we can't think for ourselves.  Democrats are  lemmings.

Only hope for Maryland would be “shall issue” IF we get the Supreme Court decision in June. Constitutional Carry in MD or Delaware is a pipe dream.   Pennsylvania did pass both houses but Wolf vetoed.  If PA elects a good Republican in November we might see there.

Georgia now permitless. 25 states.   Half the nation no longer requires a license to carry concealed.

They will allow no permit carry just after they vote to ban all firearms.
