Restrictive Delaware... SBR

(1/2) > >>

Sneakerz4Me:
Hey everyone, so i understand SBRs are legal here in Delaware. I'm trying to understand the process a little more, as it seems none of the FFLs here are able to handle NFA items? Am i wrong?

If true, do we fill-out and submit our own form 1s? Are local chief of Police signing off on them?

Thanks for the help.

Clarence:
I’m not sure if there are any Class lll dealers in Delaware.   Even if there are, a big stumbling block will be getting “chief law enforcement” officer to sign off.  There is nothing to require them to do so.

In unincorporated areas of Kent and Sussex it would be the State Police.  In unincorporated New Castle County, the County Police.   Within boundaries of cities and towns it would be the Chief of Police.  Wilmington, Newark etc.

You might have a shot if you live in a downstate town.

Not sure if you can buy from Class lll dealer out of state.  That would be a question for ATF

Sneakerz4Me:
Thanks. Yea no class 3 in DE. Found all the info. I can do the form myself. And CLEO no longer required to sign off. A copy gets sent to them though.

Not aware that sign off was no longer required.  Good to know.  Thanks.

Here is the notification of the change in 2016

Know a guy who has SBR.  Not sure what he had to do to get it.
