Very sad to see that NRA sanctioned competition has been canceled due to the Carney gun laws. Very sad. A violation of our rights to recreational use of arms under Article 20. See this from DSSA:
In compliance with House Bill 450 and Senate Substitute #1 for Senate Bill 6, until further notice the Delaware State Sportsmen’s Association is temporarily suspending the sanctioning of the following State Championship Matches:
1. Service Rifle Matches as defined by NRA Rule 3.1;
2. NRA Mid-Range (Prone) Tactical (AR) as defined by NRA Rule 3.3.3; and
3. All other competitive shooting events where semi-automatic, magazine-fed rifles are customarily used and authorized for use in such matches under the Rules of the National Rifle Association of America.
This means that during the duration of this sanctioning suspension, there will be no State Championships fired in the State of Delaware for such events. The sanctioning for any such previously scheduled State Championships that have not yet been fired is hereby withdrawn.
Clubs are asked to inform their memberships of this temporary change.
