Idk if anyone here goes to that,  but new this year is metal detectors along with specific firearms rules (only on-duty uniformed officers)

The phili auto show and the zoo are the only times I go there.  Otherwise,  I agree with steering clear of that cesspool.

Same with Baltimore,  which I only go to the inner harbor for either the aquarium or the science center,  of which I was thoroughly disappointed last time.

Can you explain the jail time though? I don't think there are any separate city ordinance with cc, especially since I have my pa license

In my honest opinion, cities of all kinds are for rats and Democrats.

Trust me,  I don't like cities.  And i don't trust any place where I stand and can't see natural landscape

Lol just found this out the hard way. I was coming here to tell you all.

I obviously set the metal detector off so they pulled me to the side to wand me and I was sure I was caught. I carry right hip and have a pocketknife in my left pocket. I was able to use my pocketknife as a red herring to distract them. They wanted to take the pocketknife. The lady saw it has screwdriver attachments on the side of it and said I could keep it, just unclip it so it can’t be seen.

My heart was pounding 😂

@@@@.  I was wondering if someone was going to bring that up. My plan was to go this weekend but I don't want to be in that situation, even though I have a Leatherman.

I wonder what brought this change.  I went the past few years and I think in the rules they never mentioned weapons of any kind

Yeah, I wouldn’t recommend it. I just didn’t feel like going all the way back to my car because we parked at the casino and took and Uber over. So, I figured worst case scenario I’d be going back to my car to lock it up, best case scenario I could bamboozle them.

I was willing to let them take the pocketknife (it’s just a $30 Kershaw that I’ve beaten to hell). Once she saw the screw driver attachments she was more willing to let it slide even though she said I really wasn’t allowed to have it there. But it served as enough of a red herring to keep them away from my gun. Plus I got to keep my pocketknife. So win-win for me!

One must be careful of carrying a knife in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Code §10-820. Cutting Weapons in Public Places.

(1) Definition.

Cutting Weapon. Any knife or other cutting instrument which can be used as a weapon that has a cutting edge similar to that of a knife. No tool or instrument commonly or ordinarily used in a trade, profession or calling shall be considered a cutting weapon while actually being used in the active exercise of that trade, profession or calling.

(2) Prohibited Conduct. No person shall use or possess any cutting weapon upon the public streets or upon any public property at any time.

(3) Penalty. The penalty for violation of this section shall be a fine of not less than three hundred (300) dollars and imprisonment of not less than ninety days.

So because my Leatherman has a knife,  while I am not using it for general trade reasons,  would be subject to that law

Makes perfect sense.  Even though philly is ripe with road chunks from potholes I could bludgeon anyone with

Does that negate my Pa CCDW permit.  A knife is a "weapon", as is a firearm.????

Actually, the PA permit is a LTCF (License To Carry Firearm).

Delaware is a state that "legally permits" concealed carry of most weapons with a DECCW Permit.
In other states it is only a permit to carry a concealed firearm. You have to be sure of which state has what, or you could be in a heap of trouble.

DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING.

That is true about Philadelphia.  I guy ( an electrician) had a Leatherman  on his belt on the Philly subway.   He was arrested as the SEPTA police AND the crooked original judge ruled that a Lestherman was NOT a tool of the trade and he was held over for trial

He was eventually cleared and had to forfeit the Leatheman but he spent 3 days in lockup.
