I love Doonesbury -it seems to always catch just a little different angle on things. Besides the humor, though, I am not sure at all that open-carrying helps to put the average gun-enthusiast in the proper light. Since most people are uncomfortable with guns, how does the sight of you or me open-carrying help? It is better to carry concealed, so as not to scare people, who already do not understand. It feeds into a negative public stereotype, IMHO, of in-your-face confrontation...
