Pa non resident arrived
« on: April 10, 2010, 08:50:36 PM »
Mentioned earlier my reasons for getting my PA non resident license from Delaware county instead of Centre  county. So went to the Media courthouse Sheriff office with filled out app and $46 cash. They took my photo with a digi camera. 4 weeks have passed and I got a letter from the Sheriffs office that my license is ready. They do not send my mail, so I will go get it Monday since I'm off.
So if you hang out a lot in Delaware county like me, this is an option. You also get a nice photo license. But it cost more and takes a bit longer I reckon.

My PA LTCF from Centre County is about to expire. I wonder if I should renew it through Delaware County instead?
Maybe I'll drive up there and ask them.

If it were me, Centre Co @ what $26?  I'll save the time, drive, and buy practice ammo* with the $20 difference.
Dont really care it a paper receipt as long as it will CMA if needed.

I'm of the opposite mind because I'm hard on things (Cellphones, vehicles, just about everything) I would want the nice photo ID because I would destroy a piece of paper.

I reduced mine on a copy machine and laminated it.  Lasting w/o issue.

Plus, I have a SMALL wallet (actually a credit card bifold) where I have
anything gun related (permits, NRA credentials, etc) in my front left pocket.
the reason is if I lose my wallet, I do not need to tell the finder my address
and I have a gun.

That's good to hear.  There are several PA sheriffs that illegally refuse to issue non-resident license.

Congrats.
